Make Meal Prep Fun

Do you hate eating the same food every day but don’t have the time to make multiple meals? If you are struggling with your meal prep, then check out these tips to save you time and make it more enjoyable.

I love eating healthy meals and routinely pack food for my work week. I used to be fine eating the same thing every day, but at some point, I started getting bored. This led to me eating out more frequently and routine stops at the grocery store. From a nutrition standpoint, eating the same thing daily can lead to deficits in our diet. Variety is crucial to helping people look and feel their best. Plus, the more variety people have, the more likely they are to stick with their diet

While talking to my good friend, we discussed our weekly routines, which included meal prepping. We decided to try meal prepping together so we could spend time together. We both agreed to pick out two recipes we wanted to make. Before heading to her house, I made sure to bring my ingredients and plenty of Tupperware. We discussed what kitchen tools she had, so that I could bring anything else we might would need.

Our afternoon was filled with laughter, dancing, and all while getting a task done that we both needed to do. In 2.5 hours, the kitchen was clean, and we had multiple meals made for our week. We both had several weeks’ worth of meals left over, that we were able to freeze. In what would have taken me half a day, we were able to do in just a few hours. Not only did I get my meals prepped but I was able to spend time with my good friend

If you don’t have time to get together with a friend, try meal swapping with coworkers. Ask everyone to make one recipe and bring enough to share. This way you get a variety of meals while getting healthier at the same time.

Remember meal prepping doesn’t have to be boring. Life is too short for boring food with bad company.
